JACOB DENZLER SAN FRANCISCO THIS BOTTLE NOT TO BE SOLD. With three bears drinking beer. Here’s a rare bear, or should we say rare bears. Certainly, one of the more graphic of the western bottles bar none. Embossed with three bears drinking bear, they are standing there with empties at their feet. This bottle had a chip on the front of the lip, and we had it repaired. We were astonished at the j...

CASSIN’S GRAPE BRANDY BITTERS. The irony of offering another aqua blue Cassin’s is not lost on us and after selling the only other example we’d ever seen-it is quite a surprise. Never would we have guessed that when we went to the Mullally house that there would be another example albeit with a crack in it. For those that missed it we sold the last example in perfect condition for $155,000. The...

WORMSER BROS. SAN FRANCISCO flask with applied champagne style or applied band top. 1865-67. Here is another flask that contained 21 ounces of liquid. I’m not sure that collectors ever thought of it as a quart or even wondered about the different variants of western flasks regarding volume. Along with the J. Angeli flask it is anyone’s guess why the earliest made western flasks are also the lar...

W. & CO. N.Y. PINEAPPLE BITTERS iron pontil yellow-green. P-100 Here is a bitters bottle that comes with a couple different initials and of course, in numerous colors. Predictably they have good base wear, as this one shows, because one has to believe they were kept around for some time. This one is a terrific off color, and an early example. Overall, despite the heavy use, it appears to have l...

HARVEY’S PRAIRIE BITTERS. H-67 As Ring/Ham points out, these are considered one of the top ten bitters bottles by collectors today. That could have changed but regardless, you have to love the amazing design incorporated into this now believed, Chicago bitters. It was often thought it was made for an Indiana company. With four rows of barrels along each edge and a makeshift ear of corn as the s...

W.C. & CO NY PINEAPPLE BITTERS WHIMSY with open type pontil, 6 ¾” with rolled lip. 1865-70. McKearin plate 252. Here is an amber whimsy made from a Pineapple Bitters mold. This was something a glassblower might do at the end of the day, and present it to someone possibly as a flower vase. As is typical with the bottles, this one has lots of wear on the base. These pineapple bitters seem to have...

A.B. MYERS AM ROCK ROSE NEW HAVEN. Connecticut, ca. 1845 -1860, iron pontiled with applied top. 9 ¼”. These bottles are another container that make you wonder with the contents intact how functional it would be to pour the contents into a glass. It probably weighed a few pounds when full. With the applied round top and beautiful shade of bluish green it strikes quite a pose. The usual overall c...

DR. WYNKOOP’S KATHARISMIC HONDURAS SARSAPARILLA NEW YORK.1855-1865. Open pontil. We’ve handled a few of these larger than life cobalt sarsaparillas and each one seems to have their own identity. This is a deep baby blue with the lettering completely readable which isn’t always the case. The pontil is about half-dollar size and quite crude. On close inspection the bottle looks to have been profe...

AMMONIA MNFD. BY S.F. GASLIGHT CO. Applied top, found in Grass Valley in December of 1991. Here’s one that has the elongated mold in light cobalt blue. We are not sure why the blue examples have that extension; it’s seen with a mold line circling the lower one inch of the bottle. A label on the base says it was found off Main Street near High. This one has some nice bubbles and light crudity an...

My family sold this patent medicine in the 1870’s-90’s. I have the formula, and It would probably kill you if you drank it for long…. My great great grandfather Isaac Coblentz, his brother John Philip Coblentz, and J. P.’s brother in law Samuel Ridenour had a company called Ridenour, Coblentz and Co. They were based out of Springfield, Clark County, Ohio, and began marketing “Hindoo Pain Conqueror” around 1872. They had a traveling salesmen by the name of C. S. Ritz who sold their wares in the early 1870’s. There are advertisements that indicate my great grandfather Frank H. Coblentz also sold the “Hindoo Pain Conqueror” up until at least 1890. The recipient was passed down from my grandfather. I will say it had alcohol, opium, chloroform, and other ingredients…. I would love to to purchase a “Hindoo Pain Conqueror” bottle for my own collection.

Hello, I just joined your channel. I would like to ask you a few questions I live in a old farm house and in the cellar I have a window that looks under the porch I believe anyway I saw a bunch of bottles sticking up so I had my grandson climb in there and I got 5 1 gl bottles but 1 is what I would like to ask about it a 1 gl basket weave but on the front there’s a clear square good size almost the whole front any idea what that would be? I also found the biggest Atlas mason jar with top but the metal piece that holds the top has rotted away and quite a few others one of the 5 gl has the round lip oh I didn’t state there jugs. What I did love was one of the wine bottles has a green and amber color on it looks like a mistake but I love it and oh a quart size clear Newport root beer have you heard of that? Now this house was built in 1912 so I believe they may be 100 years old some of them there are two milk of magnesium blue which I read are from the 50’s not sure about that I’ve looked at the line that runs up and they all go to the top except for one wine bottle also is there anything to do for the glass sickness? I’m actually still cleaning the inside with the degreaser soaks inside. Sorry so long just got excited because I love bottles have a bunch of little ones I’ve had for years ink wells colics and so on. I also do crafts in bottles but I don’t know if anyone would be interested in buying these so I don’t know if I should use them for that can you lmk what you think of that as well. But I’m really curious about the weaved one. Ty for any replies.

For the most part I disagree. I have sold and still sell these mind of older colorful bottles. You missed a lot of common bottles that mo one wants and are hard sellers like Certo, Clorox, ketchup, mustard, Kremlin, clear canning jars, beer, unembossed liquor, et cetera.

They ALL HAVE VALUE. It depends on your definition of VALUE. Money does not rule this World, in spite of one thinks. Value is gold you assign to it. That being said, of course some things are WORTH MORE than others. It's up to YOU to find Out?
